Vinyl Paintings

John Giorno returned to creating visual artworks in 1989 with his Vinyl Paintings. These were produced with Edizioni Francesco Conz, the publisher and patron who collaborated with over 300 artists. This experiment marks Giorno’s return to the creation of visual artworks, and sets the stage for the rich visual practice that he would expand upon in the 2000s-2020s with the Black and White, Rainbow, and Perfect Flowers series, among others.
