GPS's formal grant programs ended in the early 2000s, but in the years following Giorno's death in 2019, we have begun thinking about how to give money in meaningful ways. 

Three organizations received three-year grants (2021–2024)
Performance Space New York proposed the John Giorno Octopus Series, where artists and guest curators are invited to to organize an evening-length program with several artists working in any number of disciplines. 

The Poetry Project told us about the hopes to commission and present new work. 

John Giorno also holds the record, or so we're told, of the most frequent reader in the history of The Poetry Project.

The Padmasambhava Buddhist Center will offer a scholarship to a student who wants to study the Nyingmapa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
